My first time in Portland and is seemed like a cool place, hipster central apparently but I didn’t really see too much in the brief time I was there. I don’t have any pics of the gig itself, which was really fun, but I did take some of the strange after show eatery that some local chums took me to, called The Roxy.

I love a good ole American diner. Makes me feel all Nighthawks. And there were a few nighthawks in there that night. Plenty of hipsters sure, some bikers, some goths and a table of Thai ladyboys who made eyes at us the whole time. The real highlight of the place has to be the jumbo Jimbo crucifix though.

There was a a lot of cool crap over the walls, including much Tarantino memorabilia. The ugly painting of him was especially nice.

I ordered one of the only things on the menu I could actually eat – which they listed as the ‘Vagitarian Omelette’. No typo. Guess they don’t take too kindly to veggies round here. I cut it open and there was a cube of pork inside. A multi-layered joke or pure accident, I lost my appetite. But heck, I’d still go back there – if it was the Dirty Porno Bingo night.

When are you coming to Melbourne HC? Moved out from the UK and missing the hospitality fix! We had Netsky, which was an awesome gig and Brookes Bros, again awesome, but desperately needing HC bomb dropping!

I’m sure a few people would turn up…

Having grown up in Portland, I can tell you that “vagetarian” is meant as a joke…in actuality there are a ton of vegetarian and vegan places here. As a side note, I would have liked to go to one of your shows, but I was in Vancouver BC on the 7th and headed back to Portland on the 8th, so I managed to miss both of them. Oh well, next time…
