It’s a Jazz World

LonnieGlastoThis is Lonnie Liston Smith playing to a small but appreciative crowd at Glastonbury this year. Great show, never thought I would get to see him play. Been a fan since hearing Daft Punk drop his ‘Garden of Peace‘ (as sampled by Jay-Z) in their New Years Day Essential mix back in ’99.

It was probably the best Glasto, nay best festival, I’ve been to, had top time all weekend and of course performing was a treat too. As a bonus spotted Harry Enfield and Alan Yentob wandering about.

what Harry Enfield and Alan Yentob wandering around together? was gutted I missed Lonnie Liston Smith but such is Glasto. Saw a few guys on the Jazz World but the sound was pretty poor. Khaled was good but think only about 2 of us knew who he was and the rest were simply waiting for Roots Manuva (okay that’s all we were doing too but hey, it was a nice suprise he was playing before and to be honest I preferred Khaled). Hot 8 Brass Band were pretty good but again the sound let em down. Didn’t know you were playing squire or would have trecked across.

Harry and Alan weren’t together when I saw em but they were wearing similar short-shorts so who knows!

you wouldn’t have noticed Enfield and Yentob if I hadn’t pointed them out to you! Hooray for ever alert big sister
